Meriplex Communications Ltd. began serving business customers in 1997. The idea of a fully converged enhanced communications service provider was first developed in 1994, when the founder, Arthur Henley, organized OfficeComm Inc. to build and manufacture integrated packet voice over data network products. Mr. Henley and his associate were granted U.S. Patent Number 5,526,353 for transmitting packetized voice over data networks in 1996. Mr. Henley subsequently founded two additional companies, one taken public in 1997, which built products on the technology and software first developed at OfficeComm. Meriplex was founded and built upon this experience to implement revolutionary VoIP technology into  turn-key solutions and services for the enterprise market.
